Thuya wood (Tetraclinis articulata) grows only in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. The Romans used it for their finest furniture two thousand years ago. Its burl — the swirled, knotted section of the root — produces a grain pattern unlike any other wood on earth, with deep amber tones and a soft natural cedar fragrance that lingers for years.
